History of Jackson Heights Studios
Jackson Heights Studios was officially established in April of 2009 and is the manifestation of myself, Michelle Cordero, and my brother Manuel Cordero’s dreams and hopes for a successful future and our love for our Queens neighborhood. Jackson Heights Studios is an exciting new business venture that allows people to buy items from our fashion line, to order customized apparel. By creating a unique product development cycle, Jackson Heights Studios harnesses the flexibility and creativity of screen-printing to allow custom apparel printing in small batches. Jackson Heights Studios is essentially an eco-friendly designer apparel company, where our main goal is to provide vintage apparel that can be customized to fit your unique style.
Our customers have choice to personalize their apparel either from an item from our current fashion line catalog, to a completely customized piece of apparel they have dreamed or imagined. Once initial design consultation is complete, and Manuel has captured their vision, they can choose the material and style of the shirt. Jackson Heights Studios believes this is the ultimate form of personal expression, and we strive to meet our client’s high standards. Some of our clients choose images that display their passion for a particular social message or cause, to sports team fanaticism, a personal message, or appreciation for a music band. Basically, whatever image the client can come up with, we can print it and make it a lasting impression.
Culture and Inspiration
JHS is a design studio based in Jackson Heights, Queens, NYC, and it is a neighborhood that is a microcosm of all the cultures in the world. From taking a ride on the 7 Train, known as the International subway line, you can virtually visit any region or culture in the world, by different stops.
JHS is poised to grow into a major corporation, with a targeted growth strategy of 1 to 2 years. In addition to the products and services we provide, we are also interested in assisting local artists to have a platform to exhibit their art. Artists can submit their original artwork, and after an evaluation process to ensure the artwork design meets JHS’s strict quality standards, we will provide exhibit space in our design studio and more importantly an online gallery on our website. Having the ability to work with local artists ensures that JHS will continue to grow and increase its customer base through this innovative ecosystem strategy.
Product Summary
Our products range from our original and innovative fashion line made on the American Apparel brand via screen-printing method, to personalized t-shirts and accessories, custom orders from local sports team’s uniforms, and college organizations like sororities and fraternities. In addition, Jackson Heights Studios partners with local businesses to develop unique graphic designs for any advertisements, professional web design services, partnerships with other retail companies, and working with local documentary and film directors on creating lasting images in their films. JHS also works on custom oil paintings, community murals, digital photography, digital and art prints, and any type of artistic medium to make images come alive. In essence, Jackson Heights Studios main objective is to make lasting images for our customers.
